Some years ago1&1 was a favoured site of the Secure Surfing Organization and it received a recommended status. It is not on our recommended list now.

I had 1&1 for several years. Wanted to move a domain for my son to take on and he wanted a different host. Nightmare working with 1&1. Can't really say you work "with" them. You gotta just push through them.
